I found out that my parents were actually at the hospital when the shooting happened. Dad was there for his heart rehabilitation therapy. He said that a security guard came in to the room, and whispered something to the employees. Dad said all the employees started frowning, but nothing was said about what was going on. May they reset in peace. After several days of watching the news it seems that Mrs. Riddle was transferred from a local nursing home to UPMC as she was suffering from Alzheimer's. This tragic shooting shows what the true state of Health Care is in the US today, and in our area in particular. We were at the veterinary clinic next door to this hospital when this happened around 9:15 AM EDT this morning. We had the dogs there, for their yearly check up. We saw the State Police cars racing up the driveway.Was Mrs. Riddle just dined by her health insurance company? Did they just get the staggering bill? A shooting in a hospital around Oxygen could have had a lot of secondary explosions, that could have directly affected us do to our proximity at the Vet's office. "Cranberry Township, in Venango County Pennsylvania. -- Pennsylvania State Police said two people were killed in an apparent murder-suicide inside UPMC Northwest Regional Hospital. According to police, Robert Riddle, 75, of Oil City, shot and killed his ailing wife before killing himself." -- WTAE Pittsburgh.
